Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a gyrotron device capable of realizing a beam-like electromagnetic wave of high transmitting efficiency.

CONSTITUTION: In a gyrotron device, at least one of reflection mirrors 55a for reflecting an electromagnetic wave is formed into such a shape that the direction of a local wave vector kao of a reflection wave of the entering electromagnetic wave accords with the direction of a Gaussian mode in all positions within a predetermined range 56a of the reflection surface of the reflection mirror 55a. Consequently, it is possible to obtain the reflection wave equal or approximate to the Gaussian mode in the mirror system so as to obtain the electromagnetic wave of a beam of high transmitting efficiency.
