To provide a haircare apparatus that is provided with a communication function and can prevent a user from doing an unexpected action in use.SOLUTION: A hair drier (1) includes: a power supply unit (16) that supplies power to the main body unit (10) having a blower (13) and a heater (14); a power switch that switches between the presence and the absence of power supply from the power supply unit (16) to the main body unit (10); a communication unit (17); and a control unit (11). The control unit (11) enables the communication unit (17) to communicate only while the power supply unit (16) can supply power and the power switch is off, and sets the operation of the main body unit (10) on the basis of the information included in a signal received by the communication unit (17).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
