To provide a hair care or hair styling device able to heat styling surfaces uniformly and able to reduce noise.
The device has two arms 5, 5.1 arranged in a joint manner, the opposite surface sides of these arms serve as the styling surfaces 9, 9.1, and a hair styling space 10 that can be opened and closed is defined. A hot air guided through the passages 11, 11.1 of the arms 5, 5.1 flows along the back sides of composing elements 8, 8.1 forming the styling surfaces 9, 9.1. Thereby. styling surfaces 9, 9.1 are heated. In addition, at least one self-control heating element (PTC heating element 13, 13.1) having a positive temperature coefficient is connected as an additional heating device. Thereby, the styling surfaces have constant and uniform temperature, and an amount of the conveyed hot air can be decreased, thus reducing operating noise.
