PURPOSE: To obtain a hair conditioner composition, containing a specific amine oxide type surfactant and not only excellent in conditioning effects on hair but also extremely rare irritancy to the human skin.
CONSTITUTION: This hair conditioner composition contains an amine oxide type surfactant expressed by the formula [R1 is a 16-24C alkyl or alkenyl; R2 is ethylene or propylene; R3 is methyl or ethyl; (n) is 1-10]. The compound expressed by the formula is obtained by adding ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide to a higher alcohol such as palmityl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, oleyl alcohol or behenyl alcohol, then substituting terminal OH group with a halogen, reacting the prepared compound with dimethylamine or diethylamine and further reacting the resultant N-alkyl-N,N-dimethyl(diethyl)amine with hydrogen peroxide.
