To provide a hair cosmetic which can increase the volume of hair in a natural appearance.

This hair cosmetic is characterized by comprising (1) the volatile base salt of a fatty acid and/or the fatty acid and the volatile base, (2) a solid fat, (3) a fibrous substance, and (4) an aqueous polymer. The fatty acid includes stearic acid, palmitic acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, behenic acid, and oleic acid. The volatile base includes preferably morpholine. The solid fat includes carnauba wax and a solid paraffin. The fibrous substance preferably includes natural fibers such as linen, cotton, silk, and wool. The aqueous polymer includes preferably an acrylic polymer emulsion.
