PURPOSE: To obtain a hair cosmetic containing an amphiphilic siloxane derivative having a specific hydrophobia group and hydrophilic group and a skin film-forming resin, having excellent set retaining force and good feeling after setting and not damaging hair.

CONSTITUTION: This hair cosmetic is obtained by including 0.01-10wt.% of a siloxane derivative of formula I [at lease one of R1 to R12 is formula II (Q is a 3-20C divalent hydrocarbon; R13 and R14 are each H or 1-5C hydrocarbon, with the proviso that at least one of R13 and R is H) and the remainder is a 1-30C hydrocarbon or the formula XR15 (X is a divalent hydrocarbon; R is a 1-30C hydrocarbon); (1), (m) and (n) are each 0-2000; etc.] and 0.01-20wt.% (as a solid content) of a film-forming resin (e.g. an amphoteric polymer, an anionic polymer or a cationic polymer) and dissolving or dispersing these components into a solvent comprising water, a lower alcohol or a mixed solvent of water with the lower alcohol according to ordinary method. The hair cosmetic can improve combing and brushing properties and prevent loosening of hair due to drying of hair and provide gloss and smooth touch feeling to hair after using.
