PURPOSE: To obtain a hair cosmetic for preventing dandruff, easily applicable owing to its high water-solubility, producible at a low cost and safe to the scalp even by continuous application, by using a carboxylic acid metal salt and/or an oxycarboxylic acid metal salt as active components.
CONSTITUTION: The objective cosmetic contains 0.005W1wt.% carboxylic acid metal salt (e.g. metal salt such as Na, K, Li, Zn, Mg salt, etc., of acetic acid, oxalic acid, malonic acid, pimelic acid, etc.) and/or oxycarboxylic acid metal salt (e.g. metal salt such as Na, K, Li, Zn, Mg salt, etc., of lactic acid, malic acid, etc.). In contrast with conventional cosmetic containing fungicide, the cosmetic can be safely applied to the scalp over a long period. Furthermore, it can be easily used as a cosmetic because of its water-solubility unlike conventional vitamin E esters. It can be used widely as hair tonic, milky lotion for scalp, hair shampoo, hair rinse, etc.
