To increase the total quantity of negative ions bonded with water molecules by increasing the opportunities of contact of ionized oxygen with water molecules, and to prevent elimination of negative ions as much as possible in a hair dryer equipped with an ion generator.

A blower fan 15, a motor 16 and a heater 17 are disposed inside a body casing 1 of the hair dryer, and the ion generator 31 is disposed in the center region of drying wind blown from the blower fan 15. A convergence body 40 for coercively fluid-guiding cold wind before heated by the heater 17 toward the periphery of the ion generator 31 is provided between the blower fan 15 and a blow-off grille 28. The convergence body 40 is tapered from the blower fan 15 side toward the ion generator 31 side to fluid-guide cold wind along the surface.
