This hair dryer is provided with a sub ventilation passage 19 separately from a ventilation passage 18 where an air blowing fan 15 and a heater unit 17 are disposed, and a radiator 56 is disposed on the inside of the sub ventilation passage. A discharge part 33 of the ion generator and a heat absorbing portion 51A of a thermoelectric conversion part 51 constituting a cooling device is disposed facing the ventilation passage 18. A dry air fed by the air blowing fan 15 before being heated by the heater unit 17 is introduced in the sub ventilation passage 19. The discharge part 33 is disposed on the upstream side of the heat absorber portion 51A and negative ions generated by the discharge part 33 are forcibly cooled by the absorber portion 51A.
