To solve the problem in a conventional hair dryer that an air outlet is separated from an ion outlet and the ion outlet is provided at the upper side, so that air sent from the dryer blows in a head to define an air flow toward the upper side than the head, and thereby the number of ions blowing in hair and a scalp is small.

A casing 2 includes an ion generator 5, a fan 6, and an air channel 7. The air channel 7 includes an upper air channel 8 in which a heater 11 is arranged, and a lower air channel 9 in which the heater 11 is not arranged. The ion generated by the ion generator 5 is mainly blown from the lower air channel 9. As a result, the ion can be provided effectively to the hair and the scalp.
