To provide a hair dryer with reduced noise by suppressing generation of turbulence.

A hair dyer has, between an axial fan 3 inside a housing 1 and a suction port 11, an ion generating unit (an obstacle) 6 which shuts a portion inside the housing 1. Within an inner surface of the housing 1, in a range spaced apart from a portion connecting with the ion generating unit 6 in a rotation direction of the axial fan 3, a rib 5 along an air flow is provided. In the rib 5, a portion closer to the suction port 11 is provided at a position farther away from the ion generating unit 6. A flow stream from a direction, in which the ion generating unit 6 does not exist, to a direction approaching the center of the housing 1 flows along the rib 5, a collision with a spiral air stream flowing along the inner surface of the housing 1 in the rotation direction of the axis fan 3 is suppressed, and a generation of turbulence is suppressed. For this reason, noise caused by the turbulence is reduced.
