To provide a hair dryer capable of protecting hair from the damage caused by active oxygen by feeding fine particles of transition metal having antioxidant effect to the hair.

The hair dryer has a body casing 3 disposed with an air inlet 1 and an air outlet 2. The hair dryer also includes a blower part 4 for delivering air sucked from the inlet 1 to the outlet 2 and a heating part 5 for heating air on the downstream side of the blower part 4 inside the body casing 3. A discharge part 7 for forming the electric discharge between a pair of electrodes 6 including the transition metal to microparticulate the transition metal, a fine particle channel 8 in which the discharge part 7 is built and through which the fine particles of the transition metal microparticulated in the discharge part 7 flow, and a fine particle outlet 9 for releasing the fine particles are provided in prescribed places in the body casing 3.
