PURPOSE: To obtain a large amount of heat and air in spite of a small size and light weight, by a method wherein the title device is composed of both a duct for a hair drier and a hair drier main body which is connected to the point thereof and has a blowout opening for blowing warm air led thereby and is a handy size to be held by one hand.

CONSTITUTION: When a hair drier main body 10 is raised, a switch 33 is turned on and an electric current is applied to a solenoid 5. In this way, after an actuator 5a is extended, it turns a selecting door 2 to the left and opens a duct 1 for a hair drier, following which the warm air sent through a heating core 106 by a fan 104a, is led to the duct 1 at a rear duct 110. At this time, since the pathway to the rear blowoff opening for the rear duct 110 is almost shut off by the selecting door 2, the blowoff of the warm air at the rear blowoff opening is restricted. When the hair drier main body 10 is held by hand and a push button 18 is pushed, a movable slit plate 14 is shifted to the right against a spring 15, through a lever 17 and slits 14a thereon open slits 13a on a fixed slit plate 13. As the result of it, the warm air is blown from a blowoff opening 12 and the amount of the warm air can be also controlled voluntarily by the adjustment of the push button 18.
