To provide a hair iron capable of being used by switching the heating temperature of a heating portion to proper temperatures corresponding to individual various hairs even though PTC in which temperatures can not be controlled as a heater is used.
The hair iron has a cylindrical rod accommodating plate PTC heaters therein, a grip arranged at an end portion of the rod, and a glove movably supported the rod or the grip and sandwiching a hair with the rod. A metal supporting member in which a plurality of recessed portions with substantially the same width as the PTC heaters for conducting the heat of the PTC heaters are accommodated within the rod, relative PTC heaters with different heating temperatures are arranged in the recessed portions, a multistep selector switch capable of switching one of the PTC heaters into power off state when the other one is energized, and the heating temperatures of the rod can be controlled separately operating the PTC heaters with different heating temperatures by operating the multistep selector switch.
