To provide a hair iron capable to keep closed condition of a pair of arms without firm grip of the pair of arms in hair curling work.

The hair iron is constructed to connect with a pair of arms 1a and 1b so as to allow free turning at the rear end 11 and a spring B to energize approximately opened condition in V form and the pair of arms are equipped with a magnetic attraction means . The magnetic attraction means are constructed of a magnet 7 (magnet body) composed of permanent magnets each attached in front and rear of a heating plate 2a at the inside of one arm 1a and an iron plate 8 (attracted body) each attached in front and rear of a heating plate 2b opposing to the magnet 7 at the inside of the other arm 1b. Thus, gripping of the arms 1a and 1b by hand to make clipped condition of hairs between facing heating plates 2a and 2b keeps a pair of arms 1a and 1b under magnetically attracted condition of the magnet 7 and the iron plate 8.
