To facilitate the treatment of a person with short hair by making the hand grasping a nipping arm difficult to contact with the head part of the person to be treated.

This hair iron 1 comprises correcting bodies 11 and 13 arranged on the tip sides 29 and 31 of nipping arms 7 and 9 in opposition to each other to nip and correct hair with warming. A curl forming curved surface curved in the thickness direction of hot plates is provided on at least one of the hair inserting directional edges of the hot plates. The tip side 29 and 31 of the nipping arms 7 and 9 are formed slender than grasping parts 21 and 23 when seen from the nipping operating directional side surface. The slender tip sides 29 and 31 are shifted to one hair inserting directional side to the grasping parts 21 and 23, and the hair inserting directional edge 33 having the curl forming curved surface of the tip sides 29 and 31 is protruded to the one hair inserting directional side over the hair inserting directional edge 35 of the grasping parts 21 and 23.
