PURPOSE: To provide a hair straightener, which can be applied for any one of the hair straightening operation and the hair stretching operation and which can securely align the cuticle of the hair to the tip of the hair in comparison with the case of using a comb without damaging the hair and which can get the glossy and smooth surface of the hair.

CONSTITUTION: The scissors type hair straightener has a grip part 1, a scissor part 2 and a supporting point part 3 arranged between the grip part 1 and the scissor part 2. The scissor part 2 is formed of a columnar small diameter scissor piece 21, a columnar large diameter scissor piece 22 provided with an annular or spiral groove 22a on the surface thereof, an elastic cylinder 23, which can be installed in and removed from the small diameter scissor piece 21, and an elastic cylinder 24, which can be installed in and removed from the large diameter scissor piece 22.
