Abstract:
The invention relates to a hair styling aid (1), in particular for curling hair. The hair styling aid (1) comprises a housing (6), guide means comprising a slot (16) in a wall of the housing for receiving a length of hair (42) to be styled. A rotatable element (20) is rotatable relative to the housing and to the guide means, the rotatable element being selectively rotatable in either direction to allow clockwise or anticlockwise curls to be formed. The hair styling aid has an elongate member (36) around which, in use, the length of hair is wound by the rotatable element, the elongate member being heated. The housing (6) surrounds a part of the elongate member (36) such that a chamber (8) is formed between the housing wall(s) and the elongate member. The housing (6) extends from a handle (2), the housing being integral with the handle. The rotatable element (20) is rotatable relative to the elongate member (36) and has a predefined starting position and is automatically returned to the predefined starting position after use. The housing (6) has a longitudinal axis and the slot (16) is parallel with the longitudinal axis of the housing.
