Abstract:

To obtain a cosmetic composition for permanently shaping keratin fibers with reduced aggressive behavior while being more effective compared to conventional compositions, and to provide a kit and a method for using this composition.

This invention relates to the cosmetic composition comprising at least one base not belonging to hydroxide family in a cosmetically permissible medium wherein the at least one base not belonging to the hydroxide family and the cosmetically permissible medium are selected so that the at least one base not belonging to the hydroxide family produces dehydroalanine by reacting with cystine in the keratin fibers through a β-elimination reaction and leads the formation of lanthionine and imparts curls with diameters of 0.2-3 cm within 60 minutes.
