Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a hair tonic free from undesirable side effects such as the action of hormone, etc., and having excellent hair tonic effect, by using testosterone-17β-halogenated acetate as a component.
CONSTITUTION: The testosterone-17β-halogenated acetate of formula (X is halogen) is compounded in a hair tonic in an amount of 0.0001W1wt%. The compound has the effect to inhibit the testosterone-5α-reductase activity as well as the effect to inhibit the bonding of 5α-dihydrotestosterone with receptor protein, and is effective to mitigate or prevent the male baldness and alopecia.
