To provide a hair treatment apparatus which can allow a permanent wave agent or a straight permanent agent to properly penetrate through the hair while allowing ultrasonic waves and minus ions to act on the hair.

The hair treatment apparatus 1 has: a pair of treatment grip pieces 3 and 4 whose base ends are pivotally supported by a pivotally supporting part 5 in an openable and closable manner, opposed surfaces of which sandwich the hair and which are provided with a hair pressing part 3a and a hair receiving part 4a respectively on their opposed surfaces; an ultrasonic wave generating means acting on the sandwiched hair through the hair pressing part 3a and an ion generating means acting on the hair which are built in one treatment grip piece 3; an electric power supply 11 which supplies electric power; an operation part 6 which is provided with switches for selecting operations of the ultrasonic wave generating means and the ion generating means and display lamps indicating the state of operations; and an operation switch which is incorporated in both one treatment grip piece 3 and the other treatment grip piece 4 astride them and performs operation stop and start in association with the opening and closing operations.
