To provide a hairdressing composition capable of giving suitable luster to the hair for a long time, capable of furnishing with a smooth feeling, capable of giving such hair style that has no tacky feeling, is smooth and dry, and has a natural voluminous feeling, and capable of being easily rinsed out when the hair is washed.

This hairdressing composition contains a silicone having a degree of polymerization of 1,500-2,950 and a volatile liquid material. The volatile liquid material preferably has an evaporation ratio of 0.5-80% when measured after allowing the material to stand for 20 hr at a temperature of 40°C and a humidity of 50%.
