A heat plate block 2 and a clamp plate block 3 are connected so that they can be opened/closed, with a heat plate 4 on the surface 2a of the heat plate block 2 opposite to the clamp plate block 3. A heating means is included in the heat plate block 2 for heating the heat plate 4, and a clamp plate 6 is mounted on the surface 3a of the clamp plate block 3 opposite to the heat plate block 2. Hair is curled/straightened by clasping the hair between the heat plate 4 and the clamp plate 6. In the case, a second heat plate 7 is attached to at least one of the side surface adjacent to the surface 2a of the heat plate block 2 opposite to the clamp plate block 3 or the side surface adjacent to the surface 3a of the clamp plate block 3 opposite to the heat plate block 2.
