Abstract:
To provide a half-split bearing constituting a sliding bearing of a crankshaft capable of reducing a friction loss caused by turbulence generation during operation of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: Multiple recesses are formed on a sliding surface of a half-split bearing. The recess has a smooth recessed surface retracted from the sliding surface to an outer diameter side of the half-split bearing. The recessed surface forms a curve which is projected to the outer diameter side of the half-split bearing, in a cross-sectional view in parallel with a circumferential direction of the half-split bearing. A groove formation region is formed adjacently to an edge of the recess. Multiple circumferential grooves retracted from the recessed surface to the outer diameter side of the half-split bearing are formed in the groove formation region. The multiple circumferential grooves extend from the edge of the recess in the circumferential direction of the half-split bearing. The present invention also defines a sliding bearing which comprises the half-split bearing, in a cylindrical shape supporting a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine, as an object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
