Abstract:
To provide a half-split thrust bearing for receiving axial force of a crank shaft of an internal combustion engine, in which damage (fatigue) hardly occurs in operation, and frictional loss is small.SOLUTION: A semi-circular half-split thrust bearing having a sliding face receiving axial force, and a back face at a side opposite to the sliding face, and defining a reference face vertical to an axial direction at a back face side, is provided. The sliding face has a plane portion in parallel with the reference face positioned near a central portion in the circumferential direction, and inclined face portions at both sides in the circumferential direction, and an axial distance from the reference face to the sliding face is maximum at the plane portion on any of radial positions of the half-split thrust bearing, and gradually reduced toward the circumferential both end portions of the half-split thrust bearing at the inclined face portions. Further the axial distance is constant over the radial direction of the half-split thrust bearing on any of circumferential positions of the half-split thrust bearing, or is maximum at a radial inner end portion excluding the plane portion, and gradually reduced toward a radial outer end portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
