Abstract:
To provide a half-split thrust bearing for a crank shaft of an internal combustion engine, in which damage hardly occurs in operation and frictional loss is small.SOLUTION: A semi-circular half-split thrust bearing having a sliding face and a back face is provided. The sliding face has a plane portion positioned near a central portion in a circumferential direction, and two inclined plane portions at both sides in the circumferential direction. An axial distance from the back face to the sliding face is maximum at the plane portion on any of radial positions of the half-split thrust bearing, and gradually reduced toward both end portions in the circumferential direction on the inclined plane portions. Further each inclined plane portion has only one uniform thickness portion in which an axial distance is constant within a range of circumferential angles of 35°-55°. An axial distance at the inclined plane portion is maximum at a radial inner end portion in a region at a circumferential end portion side with respect to the uniform thickness portion, on any of circumferential positions, is gradually reduced toward a radial outer end portion, and is minimum at the radial inner end portion and gradually increased toward the radial outer end portion in a region at a circumferential central portion side with respect to the uniform thickness portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
