Spirocyclic tetramic or tetronic acid derivatives (I) are new. Spirocyclic tetramic or tetronic acid derivatives of formula (I) are new. W' : H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, optionally substituted cycloalkyl, halo, alkoxy, alkenyloxy, haloalkyl, haloalkoxy or CN; X : halo, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, optionally substituted cycloalkyl, alkoxy, alkenyloxy, alkylthio, alkylsulfinyl, alkylsulfonyl, haloalkyl, haloalkoxy, haloalkenyloxy, NO 2or CN; Y', Z : H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, optionally substituted cycloalkyl, halo, alkoxy, haloalkyl, haloalkoxy, CN, NO 2or optionally substituted (hetero)aryl; A : haloalkoxy or halocycloalkylalkoxy; Q 1>, Q 2>H, alkyl, haloalkyl or alkoxy; m : 0 or 1; G : H, COR 1>, C(L)MR 2>, SO 2R 3>, P(L)R 4>R 5>, E or C(L)NR 6>R 7>; E : metal or ammonium; L, M : O or S; R 1>alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkylthioalkyl or polyalkoxyalkyl, all optionally substituted with halo or CN; cycloalkyl or heterocyclyl optionally substituted with halo, alkyl or alkoxy; or optionally substituted phenyl, phenylalkyl, heteroaryl, phenoxyalkyl or heteroaryloxyalkyl; R 2>alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxyalkyl or polyalkoxyalkyl, all optionally substituted with halo or CN; or optionally substituted cycloalkyl, phenyl or benzyl; R 3>-R 5>optionally halo-substituted alkyl, alkoxy, alkylamino, dialkylamino, alkylthio, alkenylthio or alkoxyalkyl; or optionally substituted phenyl, benzyl, phenoxy or phenylthio; R 6>, R 7>H; alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy or alkoxyalkyl, all optionally substituted with halo or CN; or optionally substituted phenyl or benzyl; or NR 6>R 7>is an optionally substituted ring optionally containing O or S. Independent claims are also included for: (1) process for preparing (I); (2) composition comprising (I) and a safener; (3) composition comprising (I) and an ammonium or phosphonium salt of formula (III'); (4) cycloalkanecarboxylate derivatives of formula (II) and (III); 1-aminocycloalkane carboxylic acid derivatives of formula (XVI), (XVIII) and (XIX); (5) cycloalkanecarbonitrile derivatives of formula (XXI); (6) 1-hydroxycycloalkanecarboxylate derivatives of formula (XXII), and (7) 8-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)-1,3-diazaspiro[4.5]decane-2,4-dione. [Image] [Image] [Image] [Image] ACTIVITY : Insecticide; Acaricide; Herbicide. 3-(4-Chloro-2,6-dimethylphenyl)-8-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)-1-azaspiro[4.5]decane-2,4-dione gave at least 80% control of Phaedon cochleariaelarvae on Chinese cabbage at an application rate of 100 g/ha.
