PURPOSE: A halogen-containing resin having improved long-term heat stability, initial coloration resistance and weather resistance, prepared by adding to a halogen- containing resin, a perbasic alkali or alkaline earth metal complex and a phosphite compound.
CONSTITUTION: To 100pts.wt. of a halogen-containing resin are added (A) 0.01W 10pts.wt. of a perbasic alkali or alkaline earth metal organic sulfonate or phenolate complex and (B) 0.01W3pts.wt. of an organic phosphite compound represented by formula I or III, wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, arylalkyl, alkylaryl, ether linkage containing alkyl or a group of formula II, and n is 1W5. Examples of said organic phosphite compound include dioleyl diphenyl bisphenol A diphosphite and dimyristyl pentaerythritol diphosphite.
