To improve the safety function by hardly releasing locking of a safety device in a hammering tool having an opening and closing type upper lid on the head part.
The head part 3 includes: a lower block 11 and a rotary upper lid 12. A probe 15 constituting a part of the safety device includes: a slide part 15a superposed on the top face of the lower block 11; a nose 16 provided at the tip thereof; and a transverse bent part 15b formed on one side slide part 15a by bending. The lower block 11 and the upper lid 13 are provided with a shroud part 23 formed to surround the nose 16 moved backward, and the lower block 11 is provided with a stopper 27 keeping the probe 15 to be disabled from moving backward in the lid closed state. Further, the body cover 8 is provided with a covering part 49 formed to disable access to the transverse bending part 15b of the probe 15.
