Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required until the completion of drying by providing a hand dryer with a heat generating means for heating the air blown by a blowing means, a radiating means for emitting radiation heat, a detecting means for detecting hands, and a control means for receiving the output of the detecting means to drive the blowing means, the heat generating means and the radiating means.
SOLUTION: When hands wet by hand-washing are stretched out to the position under the main body 1, a control means 11 recognizes that hands are stretched out according to a signal from a detecting means 7 to start the operation of a blowing means 4, a heat generating means 6 and a radiating means 8. The air blown by the blowing means 4 is heated by the heat generating means 6, hot air is discharged from a hot air discharge port, and simultaneously current application to a heat source 8a is executed so that radiation heat by infrared rays is supplied from a radiation opening. Thus, the drying operation can be executed by using both the hot air and the radiation heat by infrared rays, so that the time required until the completion of drying can be shortened more than before.
