PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid connection between an attachment and an appliance when hair is under tension, while allowing easy removal when required.SOLUTION: A handheld appliance comprises a body and an attachment. The body includes an attachment mechanism having a slot and an actuator. The attachment includes a protrusion adapted to engage with the slot. The actuator has a first position and a second position.
