A hand-held electric appliance includes: a body; a fluid flow path extending through the body from a fluid inlet, through which a fluid flow enters the electric appliance, to a fluid outlet for emitting the fluid flow from the electric appliance; a primary fluid flow path extending at least partially through the body from a second fluid inlet, through which a primary fluid flow enters the electric appliance, to a second fluid outlet at or near the fluid outlet of the electric appliance where the primary fluid flow combines with the fluid flow; and a heater arranged in the body in order to heat the fluid passing through the primary fluid flow path. Similarly, an electric appliance includes: a body forming a fluid flow path extending from a fluid inlet, through which fluid enters the electric appliance, to a fluid outlet for emitting a fluid flow from the electric appliance, and a bore extending through the fluid flow path; a primary fluid flow path extending at least partially through the body from a second fluid inlet to a second fluid outlet; and a heater arranged in the body in order to heat fluid passing through the primary fluid flow path.
