Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand pattern switching device capable of recognizing a driver's intention and obtaining switch operation information from the shape or movement of the driver's finger.
SOLUTION: The preset finger shape of the finger recognized from an input image and the non-displacement of a hand detection position over a predetermined period of time are recognized as indications to start a switch operation (operation start recognizing means). After the switch operation is started, each time the finger newly recognized describes a preset pattern of movement while assuming the preset shape, one of the plurality of targets to be switched is selected (switch target setting means). After the target to be switched is selected, information on the switch operation on the target to be switched is obtained according to the shape of the finger and/or the movement of the hand (operation detecting means).
