To easily repair a cut edge without causing overpolishing and to enable even a beginner to finish accurately and constantly.

Required paper grinder 15' is mounted on the upward surface of a grinding paper attachment 15 of a sharpner body 10, and a hand scaler 1 is set to a holder part 20 so that the side face of a blade part 4 on the cut edge 5 side to be the repaired object of the hand scaler 1 abuts the paper grinder 15'. An operating part of the sharpner body 10 is pressed down with a finger. A protruding part of the paper grinder attachment 15 therefore descends inside a guide hole into a lowermost position restricted by a compressing spring, and in association with this, the attachment 15 slides downward on the upward surface of an inclined plate part 13' of a stationary member 11. When pressing-down of the operating part is restricted, the finger is released from the operating part, or finger force is relaxed. The attachment 15 is therefore reset automatically into its initial uppermost position by the restoring force of the spring. The cut edge is repaired by repeating this process.
