Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain the accurate reading of an image even when the paper is shifted by a single hand by using a servo mechanism which corrects the posture and position of a linear image sensor set in an image reader according to the signal showing the posture and position of the reader. CONSTITUTION:An image reader 11 is put on the form and the scanning is started manually. If the reader 11 is tilted during the scanning the line connecting position detectors 20 and 21 of the reader 11 has a slant. As a result, X coordinates X1 and X2 obtained by the detectors 20 and 21 have different values of each other. In such a case, the signal corresponding to the absolute value of difference between X1 and X2 and a code is supplied to a terminal M1 from a servo mechanism. Then a magnetic rod 22 is pulled toward L or R direction until the X1 is equal to the X2. Thus a linear image sensor 19 is set in the correct direction. When the reader 11 has a vertical shift, Y coordinates Y1 and Y2 having different values. Then a drive current equivalent to the difference Y1-Y2 is supplied to a solenoid 25. Thus a magnetic rod 24 is shifted to move up or down the sensor 19 for correction.
