To provide a hand tool device having favorable visibility of display for performing the display of two or more functional steps.

The hand tool device has a housing 4 with a switch opening 6, movably holds an operation element 8 in the switch opening 6, and enables switching of a functional unit which can be shifted among the functional steps by the operation element 8. Also, the hand tool device has a functional step display, and a scale 16 mechanically connected to the operation element 8. In the hand tool device 2 with motor drive constituted so that each actual functional step is displayed on a display 14 of the housing 4, the switch opening 6 is separated from the display 14 and is provided at an upper part of the housing 4. Suitably, in the hand tool device, the display 14 is constituted as a housing opening, and the display 14 and the switch opening 6 are provided at the upper side of the housing 4. Furthermore, the scale 16 is formed in a part of a slide element 10, and has a plurality of marks 18 for the functional steps arranged in a row.
