To provide a handheld tool having a safety device preventing the turn of the handheld tool which is not permissible for a user during blocking.
A motor-driven handheld tool 1 such as a drill tool includes a rotary spindle 6 projecting from a housing 2 and transmitting rotational movement from a driving motor 8 to a tool 7 and a safety device 11 stopping the turn of the housing 2 about the axis A of the rotary spindle 6 in the event of abrupt blocking of the tool 7. The safety device 11 can be operated via a detecting device 12 in response to blocking of the tool 7. An overload sliding clutch 10 is interposed in a driving course 9 for the rotary spindle 6. The safety device 11 is connected in series with the overload sliding clutch 10 and placed in the driving course 9 between the overload sliding clutch 10 and the rotary spindle 6. During operation the safety device 11 makes rotatable and interconnects the housing 2 and the rotary-spindle-side driving course 9.
