The handle mechanism of a drawer type storage is provided with: a pair of horizontal handle levers 8 whose middle part is supported so as to be rotatable in a front and rear direction in the neighborhood of the upper/lower end at the internal center of the front board 3a of a drawer 3; the vertical handle 6 positioned at the front center of the front board 3a and separated from the front surface of the front board so as to connect the tip ends of the upper and lower handle levers 8, 8; a driven shaft 15 supported inside the front board 3a so as to be rotated linked with the rocking of the handle levers 8; a pair of right and left rocking latch pieces 25 supported in a rear part at each end of the front board 3a so as to be rotatable and provided with a latch receiving part 26 at the tip end; a pair of latch pawls 2, 2 arranged on the inner surface at both sides of a storage case 1a so as to be engaged with each latch receiving part 26; and an energizing means for energizing the rocking latch pieces 25 toward the latch pawls 2.
