This handling device of a thin member is furnished with a stator 100 having an electrode 101 to generate electrostatic force to float a thin member 102, a positional sensor 103 arranged on an electrode part of this stator 100 and to detect a gap between a surface of the electrode part and the thin member 102 and a mechanical support member 105 arranged on a part of the stator 100. A local part of the thin member 102 from which a main part is removed is supplementarily supported by the mechanical support member 105.
