PURPOSE: To inspect a print page accurately without relating to the existance of a page mark by providing a column detector generating a signal when there is no print end line of a bankbook or the like and a control part which sends a bankbook or the like to an outlet depending upon a signal from the detector to a conveyance path.

CONSTITUTION: On conveyance path 34 where a bankbook inserted into the bankbook intake of an automatic depositor, 1st and 2nd detectors 46 and 47 are provided which detect rhe front edge and back edge of the bankbook and at an adjacent part to the terminal end of prior-stage conveyance path 34W1 of conveyance path 34, line detector 50 which scans date items, etc., on a print line and detects print on each line, is arranged thereby constituting print part 23. The output of this line detector 50 is applied to print existence detection part 54 through analog processing part 51 and level comparison part 52 and the existence of a print end line is detected by a line signal from false line signal generating part 53 supplied with outputs of detectors 46 and 47 to generate a signal when there is no print end line, so that the bankbook will be returned by controlling unit control part 24 by outputs of line-number memory part 55 for the newest print-end line and all-line scan end control part 56.
