A handrail 2 to be fixed to a bed 1 having right and left side boards 12 consists of a side frame part 21 extended in parallel with the longitudinal direction of the boards 12 over the boards 12 on one side or both sides of the bed 1, a supporting frame part 22 extended vertically downward from the side frame part 21 and having its end part fixed to a floor surface of the bed, a projecting part 23 bent nearly at a right angle from one end of the part 21 and extending in a direction away from the boards 12, and a grasping bar 24 extended in a direction vertical to the floor surface from the tip of the part 23 and having a prescribed length.
