Abstract:
To provide a handrail renewal method for a passenger conveyor that can shorten the period of renewal work by diverting an existing handrail as it is even after a new handrail is installed.
A new handrail tensioner 18 is arranged under the new handrail 20A to set the existing handrail 21 to move in a locus via the handrail tensioner 18. Even if the existing handrail 21 is excessively long for the new handrail 20A, the sag thereof can be compensated. Despite genuine renewal where an existing handrail 20 is removed and the new handrail 20A is installed, the existing handrail 21 can be diverted as it is, and working time required for the renewal work can be remarkably shortened.
