To provide a handrail support easily mounting and demounting a handrail.
Engaging pieces 11 are formed on the inner periphery of a clamping ring 4 rotatably supported to a fixed seat screwed onto a wall surface, and guide pieces 14 inserted into the clamping ring 4 are formed on the outer periphery of a mounting seat 5 installed on the base end side of a bracket 6 supporting the handrail. The bracket 6 can be mounted and demounted by engaging or disengaging the engaging pieces 11 and the guide pieces 14 by rotating the clamping ring 4, thus easily mounting and demounting the handrail. Projecting pieces 17 and 18 opposed to end faces on the reverse side in the clamping direction of the engaging pieces 11 are formed on the internal surface of a cover 7 covering the clamping ring 4 and the mounting seat 5 at the same time. The state of a stable firm mounting is obtained by using the projecting pieces 17 and 18 as detents for the clamping ring 4.
