To provide a handrail which facilitates the support of weight when the top surface of the handrail 2 is pushed by human hands, which makes possible a firm hold, and which makes possible a continuous walk without any release of a hold from the handrail 2.
The handrail 2 is supported at the top end of a plurality of struts 1, and has a nearly flat-shaped top surface part 7, a side part 8, and an undersurface part 9. The side part 8 is formed by being hung from both sides of the top surface part 7, and the undersurface part 9 connects between the lower ends of the side part 8. A top projection 12 is projected from at least one of the sides of the top surface part 7 to the outside, and the width of the top surface part 7 is made nearly the same as that of a palm of an adult. Then a concavity into which a finger can be hooked is formed between the top projection 12 and the side part 8.
