If a character is inputted by handwriting from a handwriting character input part in the display input means 111 to the character input frame, the other character input frame is newly displayed in a display part in the display input means 111. If a character input discrimination means 117 detects that the character input state is shifted to the new character input frame, a character segment means 119 executes character segment. Since the input character is segmented in accordance with the shift of a character input state from one character input frame to the other character input frame, the character inputting person can easily recognize the character segment time.
