To obtain a hanging member made of paper excellent in strength without use of plastics, by providing a retaining shaft holding the roll core for a rolled material at the nearly centeral part of side plates made of a sheet of corrugated cardboard bent and superposed to form the paper hanging member holding the rolled material in the air.

A circularly punched part 7 is formed on a corrugated cardboard sheet 4 and two flaps 3a, 3c oppositely arranged in flaps 3a-3d having semicircular notches formed in respective four sides of a nearly square form 5 are bent to the same direction and stuck on the same face of the square form 5. On the other hand, two flaps 3b, 3d are bent to the opposite direction and stuck on the opposite face of the square form 5 to form a side plate 2. A cylindrical retraining shaft 1 is inserted in the circularly punched part 7 formed in the side plate 2 and fixed with adhesive to complete a member 15 hung in the air. In this case, an auxiliary arcuate fixing member 8 is stuck on the peripheral face of the retaining shaft 1 and the side plate 2 in order to more securely fix the retaining shaft 1.
