Title:
HARD CARBON FILM-COATED MATERIAL AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0499286
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve wear resistance, corrosion resistance and lubricating property by forming a boronization layer on the surface of an iron-base material and further forming a hard carbon film thereon.

CONSTITUTION: A boronization layer is formed on the surface of an iron-base material such as SS41, S25C, S45C, S55C, SUJ, SKS, SKD, SCM, and FCD steels. Then, a hard carbon film is formed on the boronization layer. Thereby, a hard carbon film-coated material is obtained by coating an iron-base material with a hard carbon film having high adhesion strength. This material is suitable for parts of automobile, aircraft, spacecraft, ship and industrial machine, and moreover, suitable for such use requiring wear resistance, corrosion resistance, high hardness, lubricating property and nonviscosity, such as tools and dies.
