To provide a hard coat film which is used for the surface of an image display device such as a liquid crystal display device (LCD), and has a surface hardness of a pencil hardness of 4H or more, for example, can ensure the surface hardness of the film even though the hardened thin thickness of the hard coat is reduced, has superior scratch resistance, is inexpensively manufactured, and has superior in transportability.
In the hard coat film, a base layer for bonding having a photo polymerization initiator as a main component is provided on the surface of a cellulose ester film substrate. A composition layer for forming the hard coat layer composed of an active ray-curable resin composition containing a compound having two or more (meta) acryloyl groups by 10-95 wt.% of a total resin amount is provided on the surface of the base layer for bonding. The cellulose ester film substrate and the hard coat layer are integrally bonded with a curing reaction of the resin by the photo polymerization initiator.
