To reduce vibration by selecting rotational speed of a disk inside a hard disk device based on a vibration detection means or a rotational speed setting means mounted on the hard disk device without depending on a host device, a host OS or an application program for disk rotation control.
The hard disk drive device is equipped with a disk shape recording medium 214 for reading or writing information, a motor 213 capable of rotationally driving the disk shape recording medium at multiple rotational speeds and a rotational speed selection part 203 for setting up one rotational speed among the multiple rotational speeds. A vibration sensor 202 is mounted on the hard disk device itself, the rotational speed selection part sets up one rotational speed by the output from the vibration sensor (204). By this setup, the vibration of the chassis for covering an information processing device including the hard disk device is reduced.
