To provide a hard disk recorder in which not only waste of power caused by forgetting turning-off of a power source is reduced but also deterioration of a hard disk by forgetting turning-off of the power source is prevented.

A hard disk recorder 20 is provided with a power source control part 91 for turning off the power source after the lapse of prescribed time from no operation of a user and after the lapse of the prescribed time from the operation stop, the power source is turned off by the power source control part 91. Thus, not only the waste of the power by forgetting turning-off of the power source is reduced but also the deterioration of a hard disk 10 is prevented by reducing write of useless data into a time shift buffer area caused by forgetting turning-off of the power source.
